THE HIVE CO.

It is very popular these days to find healthy alternatives to not so healthy snacks. This has become somewhat of a trend for snack consumers. This brand of healthy chips is high-end and appeals to foodies/people that have slightly more money to spend on snacks. The main goal of this project was to follow those guidelines and create the company identity for “The Hive Co.”, front face panel package designs for 3 flavours: kale, sweet potato and seaweed, one full package design for one of the flavours, and delivery truck graphics/wrap.

For all of the designs shown in this project, everything was created from scratch. All illustrations are my own and no stock photography other than the delivery truck was used. The designs were created to show a fun, yet sophisticated and “healthy” feel. Each package design relates well to the flavour at hand and uses one main illustration with supporting pattern-like illustrations throughout. The packages show all of the legal packaging requirements in English and French. The delivery truck design showcases all of the different flavours and pattern assets as well as the logo and a small tagline to help show what the brand is selling. Overall, this project was package based, but used many different design skills such as: illustrations, logo design/branding, mock-up work and fundamentals of design.

GET BOWL'D

Who doesn’t love smoothies? Smoothies are a staple for any time in the day. Great products need great branding and design. Get Bowl’d is a smoothie brand that exemplifies a fearless and fluid nature. The brand is meant to make a statement with the logo and design, but also with their smoothies. The main goal of this project was to create a brand from scratch and then create other assets to support the needs of the company. All of the assets are created from scratch. Assets in this project include: logo, packaging, business card, webpage and menu design. The logo shows off bright colours with fluid motion and has an abstract view of a smoothie bowl.

The packaging is for a takeout smoothie bowl and has 2 different options, showing a simple design on each. The business card has rounded edges to create a unique feel and applies simple and clean design to get the important information across easily. The webpage design showcases all of the bright colours alongside the typography and feature graphics. A fun and exciting part of the project was designing the menu. The idea to make a rounded square accordion menu just fit nicely with the theme. There are so many smoothies to choose from, so this was a perfect way to fit everything and show the smoothies in a unique way. Overall, this project allowed me to let loose and design playfully. Simple and modern designs with a fun twist.

BRANDING

Branding is one of the most important parts of graphic design. Every business, company and organization has branding and all of the branding is original. Logos are very unique and special and represent the company at hand. That is why logo design is extremely important to get right. I have created a series of different logos that represent each company in its own way. The first logo shown is a logo design for an ice cream shop. This logo uses a play on words for the wordmark and has a playful graphic to support the name and feel. The next logo is made for an optometrist. The logo shows some fun glasses and a wordmark alongside it, but is unique enough to make the viewer wonder about thee service. The next logo uses a play on words again for a chiropractic service. The connecting “n” and “a” represent a curved spine that can be fixed with the service provided. The fourth logo is for a taco bar and is very simple and modern with the idea that someone took a bit out of the word “crunch”.

A laundromat doesn’t have to have a boring logo, it can be playful and original like this one shown. The sixth logo is for keto diet solutions. The green arrow is a part of the “G” and represents getting started on the path for your diet, while also pointing towards the wordmark/company itself. Logo number 7 is for a donut shop and is very playful and colourful. The logo would look great on any type of packaging for the donut shop. The next logo is for a weight loss program and it incorporates the lines from the scale markers and uses them to make up the “IT” in the wordmark. The next logo is for a construction company and the graphics show abstract levels of a structure to get the idea across easily in a fun way. The last logo is for a honey shop and has a funny wordmark to spark interest in the business. Overall, these logos incorporate different techniques that make them stand out among others.

NYC TAXI SERVICE

Taxi services are less popular these days due to Uber and Lyft. That is why there needs to be a revamp in taxi service experiences. It is not the easiest to get a taxi, especially in New York City. This project showcases designs for a logo, a mobile app, a large-scale poster advertisement, and a taxi car wrap design. The logo has a pattern overlay of an abstract crosswalk that you would see from a birds eye view which makes the logo stand out from being simple text. Within the app designs you will see 4 different sections. The landing page shows the logo and tagline so that the user knows what the app is for and it allows the user to navigate to the other sections. The first section is the main section and it is where the user can type in where they want to go and see the route and information about their taxi.

The third section is for planning your trip. It allows you to look through different attractions and locations in order to make your trip the best it can be. The last section is a payment screen. The designs in this section are subtle but unique in order for the content to be easily accessible and legible. Each section has a unique colour attached to it so that the user knows which section they are in and it is visually appealing. The other part to this project was an advertisement and taxi wrap design. The advertisement shows exactly what it is for while showing a lot of design and playfulness throughout. All of the required information is placed on the graphic at a large scale towards the bottom so that it is accessible. The car wrap reiterates the other design features and is easily identifiable. Overall, this project was a well thought out project that can be implemented into any place to bring back taxi services.

52 PICK UP PACKAGING

Pick up lines can be hard to come up with on your own. As soon as you are nervous, all of the ideas and thoughts in your head just vanish. This project showcases a brand for pick up line cards that can be used as a joke.. or seriously. Whichever one you may choose. These cards can be fun to use, give to your friend or love interest, or even as a fun game. The main goal of this project was to come up with a set of playing cards or other type of cards that could have a package and set of card designs created.

The logo for these cards use a play on words “52 Pick Up”. This makes the buyer take a closer look at the cards to see why it is called that. The outer packaging for the set of cards is meant to be funny and appealing. The bottom of the card box has all of the required packaging information, including the description and customer reviews. The set of cards show different colours and graphics to complement the corresponding pick up line. The designs are simple and fun. Each card is very unique and made from scratch with illustrations and design principles. Overall, this project was very creative and humorous to design and plan out.
