This project involved a video creation for an LG 65” TV. The main idea was to create an engaging product video that showcased the product at hand, the features of the product, who it is targeting as an audience and other key points using different promotional techniques. The video is 1 minute in length and follows the brand guidelines for LG.

This motion graphic based promotional video uses eye-catching techniques to show a product and its many fascinating features. The main point is to show a good amount of helpful information through a video format that is not boring and makes a viewer want to purchase the product. A series of scenes are created to apply visual interest.

The objective of this project was to create a product video for the brand LG and its 65” TV. The main challenge here was very carefully following the brand book guidelines. There was a lot of thought going into making sure that there wasn’t too much creativity in a way so that the brand wasn’t altered. Everything had to fit just right and look like it came from the LG company. Another challenge was finding the research on the TV and making some copyright for ourselves to use. There are no “helpers” that are going to do the different jobs for you in these projects, so we have to learn how to do these jobs that are possibly out of our comfort zone. The final video is informative and simplistic, with eye-catching features throughout.

The process for this project started with educating myself about the brand guidelines set in place for the LG company. I needed to know about this information in order to be successful with the final video. The sketches and designs were created like always and helped layout the scenes with transition ideas set aside. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the layouts in which I would use for the six different scenes of 10 seconds. I searched out assets and got to work on the motion graphics of the video. Kinetic type was a main feature used throughout this project. This highlighted the important elements and helped with pulling the viewer in. The typography was complemented with related video footage where necessary and the project was completed. The promotional video helped to show many different video skills and typography skills.

The overall task of this project was to showcase a specific product and relay important features and information on it in an interesting way. A series of motion graphic video scenes placed together to create a great, exciting, and informative video.
